Sushi Yunomi is a traditional kind of Japanese teacup that is the less formal cousin of the chawan (matcha bowl) and is associated with everyday tea drinking. It is typically cylindrical in shape, taller than it is wide and has no handle. The shape makes it the perfect vessel for cradling in your hands to savour the warmth and aroma of tea. Yunomi vary in size and generally speaking, smaller teacups are used for higher grade teas and larger ones are used for more informal teas such as Houjicha and Sencha.
Our Sushi Yunomi cups "Stream Scene" is an authentic handmade Minoyaki style of pottery from Toki City, Tono Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
