Teaware & Gifts

The discovery of tea not only provided mankind with the most healthy beverage in the world, it also influenced every conceivable art form in one way or another from ceramics and pottery to music and painting. In the Japanese tea ceremony every one of these art forms has its place and it is expected that each participant will appreciate each one in its own right as well as for its role in enhancing the enjoyment of the tea itself.

In The Classic of Tea  written by Lu Yu (733-804 a.d.) it states that 28 utensils are required in order to properly brew tea.  Thankfully, we've paired our requirements down significantly these days.  Our offerings here have been carefully selected to bring you the best possible tea experience with as little (or as much) fuss as you desire!
