The traditional Chinese method used for brewing tea, specifically oolong and puerh teas, is referred to as "gong fu cha." The Chinese do not refer to this method as a ceremony, per se, as in the Japanese Tea Ceremony.
To perform the gong fu ritual properly one should have at his disposal several utensils: a tea table typically made of wood or bamboo with a reservoir for catching spills; a Cha He or presentation vessel into which the tea is placed prior to brewing; a gaiwan or an Yixing teapot for infusing the tea; a Cha Hai (Fair Cup) into which the tea is poured after infusion; an aroma cup and tasting cup for capturing the aroma and flavor of the tea.
